have won the contract to build the new website for the Huddersfield
Golf Club. Work shall involve project management, creative design,
construct and database integration, on-location photography, content

- THE Halifax, Huddersfield District Union of Golf Clubs was
founded there, so was the West Yorkshire Golf Alliance and now
the West End Golf Club at Halifax are preparing for another
milestone in their history – their centenary in 2006.
Years
of planning by a centenary committee, led by chairman Graham
Thornton, means £54,000 has been raised to back events to
mark 100 years of golf at Paddock Lane, Highroad Well.
Celebrations
start on January 2 with a champagne breakfast followed by the
official raising of the centenary flag, followed by a mixed
fourball shotgun start competition.

Paul Carman and David Hughes hit the early birdie trail at Wakefield
yesterday and went on to card a 10 under par 62 for victory in the
West Yorkshire Alliance fourball.

MATCHPLAY. The home course of in-coming president Fred Ibberson,
will miss hosting the 2006 Halifax, Huddersfield Union's matchplay
championship final, often staged at the course of the president and
rated the highlight of the season.
