The
Willow Valley golf course was built under the supervision
of John Newton, with professional advice from Jonathan
Gaunt.
Fifteen
lakes have been created, and 8 tons of bulbs have been
planted along with 50,000 trees and shrubs. There are
plans for the continued enhancement of the environment
with further planting on the course and further
stocking of fish in the lakes.
Our
recently added Pine Valley course was routed out by
the same company who designed the Willow Valley
Course : Gaunt & Marnoch. It was decided that the
construction, green designs, bunkering and physical
marking out of the course would be undertaken in house
by our already experienced team.
Construction
of Fountain Ridge or North Course, which occupies 35
acres, commenced October 1992 and opened for play
exactly a year later in October 1993. The construction
of the 160 acre Willow Valley or South Course
commenced October 1993 and the first 12 holes were in
play from December 1995. The full 18 holes were
officially opened on 21st June 1997.
