Description
Set in the Pennine hills above Huddersfield, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, Marsden Golf Club is one of the most picturesque in Yorkshire, providing spectacular views over Butterley reservoir and the surrounding countryside.
The golf club offers peace and tranquility whilst being within easy reach of
major conurbations. Close proximity of other courses, reasonably priced local accommodation and easy access to the motorway network, Marsden is an ideal location for those mid-week golfing breaks.
This well maintained 9 hole course provides a challenge with some tight fairways, tricky approach shots and guarded greens. Natural hazards and an openness to the prevailing winds adds to the enjoyment.
History
Built in 1920 having been designed by the famous Dr Alister MacKenzie, designer of the Augusta National in America and many other championship courses around the world.
