Take part in the 2009 Huddersfield Examiner Knockout Matchplay Golf Tournament and be in with a chance of winning a FREE place on the 8-day Examiner Overseas Challenge in November.
How to Enter
To enter simply complete the entry-form and return to the stated address with payment before the 11th April 2009.
Format
The knockout tournament is now is its sixth year with the Grand Final taking place at Meltham Golf Club on the 24th September. The winner will find themselves being whisked off to Spain in November to play a week’s golf on the Costa Blanca.
The competition features a home and away scenario for the 1st round, with the remainder of the tournament a straightforward knockout over one round at the course of the first-named player in the draw. If any match finishes all square after completion of the round, then sudden death MUST start down the 1st hole.
The last four players will go forward to the finals day at Meltham where the semis will be drawn prior to the competition starting in the morning, followed by the two losing semi-finalists playing off for third and fourth prizes in the afternoon, while the two semi-final winners meet in the Grand Final to compete for the free week’s holiday.
The cost of entry is £20 and the competition is open to anyone with an official handicap who are over the age of 18. The first-named player will have home advantage and will be responsible for arranging a date suitable to both parties, within the timescale allowed for each round.
